CASA hears kids

Whether you are 6, 10, or 14, the court system can be a scary place. CASA volunteers work with children to listen, and be their voice. The mission of CASA of South Central Nebraska, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.

A matter of perspective

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates - trained volunteers from the community who are appointed by a judge to advocate on a one-to-one basis for a child who has been a victim of abuse or neglect. The CASA volunteer gets to know the child and then lets the judge and other adults in the court system know the child's perspective and the child's needs. CASA volunteers are there to listen to children and represent their voice in the legal process.
